Planning from Pakistan
How studying in Australia works for Pakistani students
Entry with Pakistani qualifications
For a bachelor's degree, universities look at your FSc or A Level results, and some ask for a foundation year first. For a master's, a recognised four year bachelor's degree is the usual route. Two year BA or BSc degrees are assessed case by case, and some universities offer a graduate diploma pathway instead. Each university sets its own rules, so we check them against your transcript before you apply.
English tests
Australian universities accept IELTS Academic, PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT. Many courses ask for an overall IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, and nursing, teaching and some health courses ask for more. The student visa has its own minimum score, which is lower than most university requirements.
The full cost, not only tuition
Your budget needs tuition, living costs, Overseas Student Health Cover and the visa application fee. For the student visa you show funds for tuition, travel and a yearly living cost amount set by the Department of Home Affairs. We give you the current figures in your consultation, because they change.
Intakes
Most universities start in February and July, and some also offer a November or trimester intake. Apply four to six months early so there is time for your offer, Confirmation of Enrolment and visa.
