UK immigration FAQs
Can I get a UK work visa from Pakistan without a sponsor?
For most work routes, no. The Skilled Worker visa needs a job offer from an employer with a Home Office sponsor licence. Innovator Founder works differently, because it needs an endorsed business idea instead of an employer.
Which IELTS do I need for a UK visa?
UK visas need an English test from the Home Office approved list, taken at an approved centre, such as IELTS for UKVI. The level you need depends on your route. We tell you exactly which test and score to book.
Can I take my family on a UK work visa?
On many routes your spouse or partner and children can come as dependants, as long as they meet the rules for dependants. Some routes have recently limited dependants. We check the rules for your route before you apply.
How long before I can get settlement (ILR) in the UK?
It depends on your route, and the UK government is reviewing its settlement rules. We give you the current position for your route during your assessment, not a figure that may soon change.
