Questions
It depends on what you already have. Immediate relatives of US citizens and L-1 company transfers usually move faster than most employment categories. We look at your family ties, employer and funds, then tell you realistically how long each option takes.
Most employment green cards need a US employer, but not all. The EB-2 National Interest Waiver lets some highly qualified people apply without one. EB-5 investors and family based applicants do not need a job offer either.
You invest in a new commercial enterprise, either directly or through an approved regional centre. The investment must create at least ten full time jobs, and the minimum amount is set by US law, with a lower figure in targeted employment areas. Proving the lawful source of your funds is the most important part of the file.
It is a monthly list from the US Department of State. It shows which green card cases can move forward, based on category and the date the case was filed. For many family and employment categories, it decides how long you wait.
