The basics
What is a visit visa?
A visit visa lets you enter another country for a short, temporary stay. You travel for a set purpose, follow the conditions of your visa and return home before it ends. It does not give you the right to work or settle there.
Holidays and tourism
Seeing a country, travelling with family or taking a planned trip.
Family and friends
Visiting relatives or friends who live abroad, for a set period.
Business meetings
Attending meetings, trade fairs or conferences. Not doing paid work there.
Events and occasions
A wedding, graduation or another event with a clear date.

Your file
Documents you will usually need
The exact list depends on the country and your situation. A smaller file that makes sense is stronger than a large file that does not.
- A valid passport and identity documents
- A clear purpose of travel and a trip plan
- Bank statements and proof of where the funds come from
- Proof of your job, business or studies
- Invitation, hotel or event documents, where relevant
- Your earlier travel history and any visa refusals
- Sponsor documents, if someone else is paying
- Evidence of the family and work ties that bring you home

We look at your funds, travel history and ties, and tell you plainly where you stand.
We prepare your file
Forms, documents and your travel plan are checked so that everything tells the same story.
You apply
You submit and attend biometrics or an interview where required. We help you prepare.
Avoid these
What makes a visit visa file weak
Officers look for a genuine visit and a clear reason to return. These are the problems we look for first.
- Money that appears in the account suddenly, with no explanation
- A purpose of travel that does not match the trip or the documents
- Little evidence of the job, family or property that brings you home
- Dates, names or amounts that differ between forms and documents
- An earlier refusal that is not disclosed in the new application
Questions
Common visit visa questions
Can you guarantee my visa?
No, and nobody honestly can. The decision belongs to the embassy or visa office. Our job is to make sure your file is complete, accurate and clear.
Can I work on a visit visa?
No. A visit visa is for a temporary stay. If you want to work or settle abroad, our immigration team can look at the routes meant for that.
I was refused before. Can I apply again?
Usually yes, but the earlier refusal must be disclosed and the new file should deal with the reason you were refused. Bring your refusal letter when you speak to us.
Can someone else pay for my trip?
Often yes. A sponsor needs to show their relationship to you and that they can afford it. You may still need to show your own circumstances.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
Processing times and government fees change and depend on the destination. We will check the current official details for your country and explain the costs before you begin.
